Resident Resources
(Note the toolbar at the top with drop down menus to help you navigate around the site.)
Residents & Fellows:
This page (below) contains information used by all areas (MM, AP, GP, MB, CC, Gen, TM) residents and fellows such as Travel Reimbursement information, grants and awards, LOA forms, Request for Time Off etc. as much of that information is the same for every resident or fellow within Laboratory Medicine regardless of which speciality you are in.
Links to subspeciality areas such as Anatomical Path or Med Biochemistry, etc., contain information which is more specific to that area, such as Rotation Change forms or Graded Responsibility documents etc.
Key areas of Resident Resource are: "Resident Resources" (this web site); Webeval, where you will find Goals & Objectives under the "Handouts & Links" of your ToDo/Inbox as well as the rotation schedule & Academic Half Day schedule; and when there is an "Orientation" link posted, the Orientation area contains information which new residents need to be aware of and is also resource for current residents.
If you are not looking for generalized information (such as travel, awards, meditech, mail, notary etc.) then:
Please click one of the following links to find information related specifically, and only, to your specialty.

- Mac Care
The McMaster Community and Rural Education Program (Mac Care)
Residents at a at a community location for a minimum four week core rotation can apply to Mac Care for some costs (accommodation and travel expenses) in specific areas (i.e. (Niagara [St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland] Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge, Brandford and surrounding areas (excluding Oakville and across Canada) ). Currently the Program has arrangements with Oakvill and Guelph hospitals.
- Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP)
(for GI electives in Peterborough with Dr. J. Radhi, please apply through ROMP)
Residents may also apply to Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP) for core rotation placements. ROMP will usually place the resident in a Northern location; there are no choices on location.
Ideally applications should be submitted 6 – 12 months in advance to ensure that the opportunity for funding is available, and that the rotation can be arranged within the requested community. Applications need to be received by the ROMP office no later than 4 months prior to the rotation’s start date. As funding sources are limited, it is very difficult for us to process these last minute requests.
- Information for New Residents (Orientation Day 2011 information to be posted) & reference for current residents
