Intraoperative Teaching Workshops for Surgeons

These interactive workshops will help to clarify a poorly discussed but important function of all academic surgeons - how we teach our learners in the Operating Room (OR).

The first workshop will immerse the participant in the richness of intraoperative teaching and engender discussion of intraoperative teaching principles, giving participants some insight into their own teaching styles and exposing them to the styles of the surgeons in their groups. The second workshop will discuss teaching challenges that participants will being to their groups. Real situations will be solicited and analyzed. The third workshop will discuss intraoperative teaching and relate it to teaching theory.
