Academic Interests

Mike's research is focused on supporting the use of research evidence in health systems with specific interest in community-based organizations and health system managers and policymakers. He is also interested in research related to the politics of healthcare systems and the social determinants of health for people living with HIV/AIDS. Mike helped lead the development of the evidence briefs at the McMaster Health Forum, which is a key source of research evidence for the development of the evidence briefs at the Forum. In addition, Mike is currently developing a similar evidence service entitled SHARE (Synthesized HIV/AIDS Research Evidence), which is designed to help community-based organizations and other health system stakeholders efficiently find and use HIV-relevant research syntheses.
