A monthly seminar series, the Bioethics Interest Group (BIG) isjointly organized by the Hamilton Health Sciences Clinical Ethics Committee and McMaster University Faculty of Health Sciences. BIG is designed to promote community dialogue around a variety of ethical issues in healthcare.

Centre for Evaluation of Medicines

The Centre for Evaluation of Medicines (CEM), an academic research and educational unit, has been in operation since 1992. The CEM mission is to evaluate drug and technology use in the real world in order to improve patient health outcomes and policy decisions.

Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis

Throughout the academic year, the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis (CHEPA) recruits speakers to present seminars on selected health research topics. The series attracts attention from a large audience, which is drawn from the university and wider community interested in health and health care issues. The seminars are usually held monthly, on the third Wednesday.

public health and preventive medicine Program

CE&B sponsors a five-year post-graduate residency training program in Public Health and Preventive Medicine (PHPM). This academic and community-based program is built on the principles of population health, all levels of disease prevention, health promotion and protection.
